Metagenome Sequencing of the Microbial Community of a Solar Saltern Crystallizer Pond at Cáhuil Lagoon, Chile
Cáhuil Lagoon in central Chile harbors distinct microbial communities in various solar salterns that are arranged as interconnected ponds with increasing salt concentrations. Here, we report the metagenome of the 3.0- to 0.2-µm fraction of the microbial community present in a crystallizer pond with 34% salinity.
متن کاملEffect of solar light on the decrease of microbial contamination in facultative stabilization pond
One of the indexes of stabilization pond is the presence of coliform bacteria in water and wastewater. This study aimed to determine the effect of solar light on coliform variations in stabilization pond. In this experimental study, the effect of light, pH (<7, 7.1–8, 8.1–9), and temperature (10 ºC and 30 ºC) on facultative stabilization pond was studied for six months. The sampling was accompl...
متن کاملThe Stability and Thermal Performance of a Small Solar pond
A small salt gradient solar pond with an average surface area of 1.8 m2 and depth of 0.8m has been tested. The depths of storage, gradient and surface zones are 0.3, 0.27 and 0.07m, respectively. The temperature of the storage zone for the summer days reaches its maximum of 65˚ C after about 8 days. Daily variation of the storage zone temperature was about 8˚C which is due to small volume of th...

متن کاملMetagenome sequencing of the microbial community of two Brazilian anthropogenic Amazon dark earth sites, Brazil
The Anthropogenic Amazon Dark Earth soil is considered one of the world's most fertile soils. These soils differs from conventional Amazon soils because its higher organic content concentration. Here we describe the metagenome sequencing of microbial communities of two sites of Anthropogenic Amazon Dark Earth soils from Amazon Rainforest, Brazil. The raw sequence data are stored under Short Rea...
